Warm-ups & Stretching Programs

Power of Prevention

Want to start a warm-up program at work? You won’t get far without the support of your employees. This two-hour session is designed to educate the workforce on the rationale and benefits behind warm-ups, stretching and microbreak programs while clarifying misconceptions and answering any concerns they may have. Participants will have the opportunity to assess their own muscular imbalances and learn proper form and technique. A great way to achieve buy-in before jumping in.

Shiftwork & Fatigue

Those Shiftwork Blues

Twice you've dozed off at the wheel, only to wake up as you're entering the ditch. You manage only 5 hours of sleep during the day, if you're lucky. You have the energy of a sea slug, you're arguing more and more with your family, and there's a small nuclear reaction bubbling up in your stomach again (run, kids, run!). It never used to be this bad... what's going on?

It's not easy being a shift worker, or a shift worker’s spouse. This session is designed for both workers and family members, to help them understand the effects of shiftwork on the body as well as to provide practical strategies to improve coping mechanisms.

Topics include:

  1. Understanding circadian rhythms
  2. Sleep cycles
  3. Sleep disorders and medications
  4. Sleep and alertness strategies
  5. Managing family and friends
  6. Fatigue, nutrition and meal planning
  7. Fatigue and fitness
  8. Fatigue and driving activities

Fatigue Management

Day versus night; rotating versus non-rotating; eight hours versus twelve hours. What's right, what's wrong, and what should we do about it?

This course is designed to maximize safety and performance while minimizing the effects of undue fatigue as they relate to shiftwork, on-call and overtime practices. Learn how your organization can incorporate effective operational and preventative fatigue countermeasures.

Stress Management

Life in the Stress Lane

Tired of digging out from under a pile of paper? Frustrated with finally figuring out what your boss wants, only to discover you've got a new boss... again? Ready to toss your computer and the 432 email messages you received this morning out the window?

The goal of this stress management course is to balance work demands and home responsibilities, while fitting in time for living. Strategies include short term relief through the use of humorous intervention and long term relief through the introduction of self-directed coping skills including positive thinking. It's time to gain back control of your work and personal life.

Coping with Change

Admit it... you hate to change! Whether it's a new process at work or adjusting to a new breakfast cereal, you're used to your life moving in a certain direction (even if it's downhill). But the reality is, changes in the workplace are now the norm, not the exception. It can be frightening, even overwhelming to leave a comfortable routine. This session will help you identify your own personal turning point to help you move beyond change and into the new reality.
